Here is a letter from the camp directors that they wanted me to share:
Welcome to Pinetop,
The following are some important reminders regarding your upcoming reservation in July 2026. Please share this information with your groups.
The maximum number of guests the camp can accommodate is 210 adults and youth combined. If the possibility exists that your group will exceed the number of youth and adults reserved in system, please update the system and advise the camp managers well in advance so that other arrangements can be discussed. We cannot exceed capacity due to camp and individual safety concerns.
There are private homes on Pine Top Road with children and pets. Please do not exceed the posted 10 mph speed limit.
Check-in time is 2pm and check-out time is 12 noon. There can be no early check-in or late check-out on any day of your stay. Arriving earlier than 2pm to prepare is also not allowed. Please check in with the caretakers upon arrival and check out with caretakers well in advance of checkout time for a cleaning inspection. Foregoing the checkout inspection may facilitate your unit or group losing the privilege of camping at Pinetop in the future. Please be advised that checkout means you must complete the checkout process in its entirety and have vacated the premises by the 12 noon checkout time on the day of your departure. Cleaning expectations are posted in all buildings.
There are four designated parking areas. Parking area 1 is adjacent to Cabin 7 (Pinecone cottage). It is the first left before the entry sign. Parking area 2 is the first right following the entry sign. It is generally used for overflow and oversize vehicle parking. Parking area 3 is opposite the caretaker's maintenance buildings. Please do not block the maintenance buildings. We offer trash service for summer guests. Parking area 2 must be empty of vehicles Tuesday evening through Wednesday noon to allow for the trash service to have access to the dumpster. Parking area 4 is at the pavilion. For winter reservations, parking areas 1 and 3 are the only parking areas plowed of snow.
There are short-term loading and unloading areas adjacent to the lodge. This area is not available for parking.
Summer camping is by tent or cabin only and must be reserved in advance. There are no exceptions. Pinecone Cottage (Cabin 7) and the lodge are open year-round. All other cabins and tent sites are closed November 1 through April 15 annually. Pinecone Cottage will not have running water from approximately October 1 through May 1 annually. Please be sure to bring your own water.
There are two RV spots available to reserve for the summer season. There are size restrictions. Pull behind RV’s and 5th wheel campers must be single axle. Over the cab pick-up truck campers of any size are allowed. Motor homes with a single axle in the rear are allowed. There is 20-amp power available. The limited amperage will not allow for air conditioner use. These two sites are the only RV spots available and must be reserved. There is no potable water or sewer service at these two sites.
Pets of any kind are not allowed on the premises except for ADA/service animals with proper documentation signed by a health care professional.
Please remove shoes when in the carpeted areas of the lodge. Please do not rearrange the furniture in the lodge.
The pool is normally open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. You need to reserve the pool online. There are two sessions per day for pool reservations. We are pleased to announce that the pool will be available beginning in July 2026. The pool house is open and available for bathrooms and showers during summer use beginning approximately May 1 through October 1 annually.
No bedding is provided. The cabins 1 – 6 are basically bunkhouses. Guests will need to bring their own sleeping pads, sleeping bags, etc. Cabin 7 – Pinecone Cottage has cots for sleeping. The cots are not for seating for multiple people. Pinecone Cottage also has two bathrooms with flushing toilets and hot water at the kitchen sink during summer months. The lodge has bathrooms and showers, and as mentioned, the pool house also has bathrooms and showers during the summer months. There are also 3 outhouses on the property. Please be aware that the pool house and cabin 7 will not have water from October 1 until approximately May 1 annually due to winterization.
Shortly upon arrival, please gather your group for a short orientation provided by the Service Missionaries caring for the camp.
There is no Wi-Fi service available to guests. There is cellular reception from most major providers within the camp area.
No motorcycles, 4-wheelers, ATV’s or dirt bikes are allowed.
Please do not use staples, nails, tacks, or tape of any kind, including painters' tape, to hang things inside the lodge or cabins on any painted surface. There are corkboards mounted and available in the lodge.
There is a basketball/pickleball court available. Please bring your own equipment.
Pine Top Road is off Highway 21 between milepost 36 and 37. Turn left coming from Boise nearly at milepost 37. Follow the signs to the camp after making the turn.
The single most important reminder for winter campers is that 4-wheel drive vehicles with all-season or snow tires are mandatory. Two-wheel drive vehicles will not make it up Pine Top Road. There is an area at the bottom of Pine Top Road adjacent to Highway 21 where vehicles not equipped as stated can park and guests can be shuttled to the camp by appropriate vehicles.
There is firewood provided at camp. Tent camping is in designated and reserved tent areas only. There is no tent camping allowed anywhere in the grassy area or in a non-designated spot.
Sledding is not allowed on Pinetop Road. There are multiple areas for sledding around the camp, and at Steamboat Gulch.
Following are the rules for pool use:
SWIMMING POOL RULES
1 – Pool capacity is 100 swimmers at any one time.
2 – Pool hours are from 9am until 9pm. Morning pool reservations are from 9am until 3pm. Afternoon pool reservations are from 3pm until 9pm. It is expected
3 – Only swim during the hours your group has reserved a session.
4 – Shower before entering the pool.
5 - An adult over 21 years of age must be present for each group whenever a group is using the pool. The assigned adult from each group must be a good swimmer and not be swimming themselves but acting as a lifeguard and watching the swimmers.
6 - No running on the deck surrounding the pool.
7 – Modest swimwear is required.
8 – It is required that the pool area be cleaned by your group at the end of your session.
9 – Close the gate during your session for the protection of little ones.
10 – Failure to abide by any of the above rules may lead to your group losing pool privileges for the rest of your stay.
